Hospice Care

Hospice care provides medical, emotional, spiritual and volunteer support for patients and families during the last six months of an illness. Illness Counseling

One-on-one counseling supports anyone in the community adjusting to a new diagnosis or prognosis or living with a serious illness. Call (727) 523-3451 to schedule an appointment and discuss counseling fees or group support offerings.

Telephone Support

Check-in calls from specially-trained volunteers ensure hospice patients and their local or long-distance family members have the information and support they need. Additional volunteers always are welcome. Call (727) 467-7423 for enrollment or (727) 523-3440 for volunteer opportunities.

Caregiver Education and Training

Hands-on care instruction boosts the confidence and skills of families caring for hospice patients. Call (727) 467-7423 for enrollment.

Resources

 

Support for hospice patients and families in need may include items from our food pantry and resale shops, holiday gifts, blankets and other essential items donated by our community. Other services available to the entire community include our community libraries and advance care planning services. To make a donation, call (727) 523-2441.

 

Pet Peace of Mind

Care and assistance for beloved pets of hospice patients and families may be available upon request. Call (727) 467-7423 for enrollment.

Caregiver Coffee Breaks

Informal support groups help anyone in the community caring for a family member or friend. Groups are guided by counselors and held throughout the year at our community service centers and other local locations. Information, tips, stories and refreshments are shared and no reservations are needed. Specialized Alzheimer’s groups are held in English and Spanish. Visit our calendar for a listing.
