Tampa – The Tampa Bay community is invited to strip down and speedo up and bra on Dec. 14 for AIDS Service Association of Pinellas, Inc.’s (ASAP) 5th annual Santa Speedo Run Tampa Bay with new Mrs. Claus in Bras at Centennial Park in Ybor City, 1800 E 8th Ave., Tampa.

Participants of this 1-mile fun run are encouraged to don a speedo, bra or other skimpy Christmas costume and brave the “cold Florida December” while raising money and awareness for ASAP.

Registration is $35 online at SantaSpeedoRun.org or MrsClausInBras.org. Runners receive a t-shirt, finisher’s medal and gear bag. Check-in starts at 1 p.m. and the starting gun at 2 p.m. Southern Comfort and Bright House Networks are sponsors. An after party will be held at Reservoir Bar on 7th Ave.

Mrs. Claus In Bras was added this year to encourage women to participate and remind the area that, in Florida, women account for 23% of persons living with HIV/AIDS. In 2013, 5,938 people were newly reported with HIV infection in Florida, 22 of which were children younger than age 13.
